Tai Chi, Chen style as an long term artistic education.

Posted on January 20, 2019 at 1:30 PM

As right now I am the happiest artist.

As part of my new year 2019 resolutions I wanted to take some Tai Chi classes to work on the concept of energy and take some calligraphy workshop to learn the tradional discipline of chinese fine art.

As it turns out I think that Tai Chi classes will be enough for me in 2019 . Both of these two disciplines require hours and many years of praticing to really integrate the full chinese rigourous forms of art.

Tai Chi is not disappointing me, to no surprise, and will probably cover  the discovery of the energy in the movement I am looking for and more.

I decided to go ahead and do a succinct research on possible tai Chi classes on internet. I began to look for close to my studio places, so the commmute would no become to be a burden.

The closest one was just 13 minutes away. For the purpose of being efficient I decided to call them and have a feel for the place over the phone.  The first exchange with the instructor was good, he was himself an artist and I could come next wednesday.....

So without knowing much about the different styles of Tai Chi I could choose from, I went head first.

One hour  after a Tai Chi Chen Style  practice with Professor Florin Szondi, 20th Generation  Lineage, Chen Taiji Family and I was hooked. I know that a lot of practice and time and hard work will have to happen. but I know that it is exactly what i was looking for.

I am so inspired and I know that Tai Chi Chen Styles practice will bring energy, movement, balance and more to my art. It will bring MUCH MORE to my over 50 year old body and mind too.

Lucky me.  Stay tuned!
