Being in the present

Posted on June 20, 2019 at 8:45 PM Comments comments (2)

The past is the past and can't be changed, the future is inevitably unknown for the most part, so only the present seems worth to be focused on. Is an artist stroke in  the present maleable or is it in the past as soon as it happens and should be left alone?. Any "unwanted drop", any "mistake" is the real expression of a moment in time of the life of the artist. Can an spontaneous or Unexpected stroke reeveal  more than a long thought through composition. What If the goal of an artist is  to reflect an instant from his/her.

I really like these drops showing a process. precious present time. What is the value of the present, What is the value a present moment?

"Enso is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism..."

"Enso (formally spelled ensō;) is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning circle, or sometimes, circle of togetherness. It is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create, as the singular brushstroke allows for no modifications". Art in the wood

Some paintings seems to belong to nature.

When you know me well you know I am a big nature lover. It transpires in all my paintings. With this particularly piece I feel a very strong connection between  the painting and my environment.

How to define my art?

Posted on April 22, 2019 at 5:30 PM Comments comments (1)

We all have already seen some calligraphy. Asian calligraphy, Western calligraphy or hebrew calligraphy are the most known.

What is graffiti? "writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place." -Online Dictionary

The last ten years we have seen work by calligraffiters such as Retna, Keith Haring, Shoe or El Seed and many more but too often we associate their work with murals.

What is calligraffiti ? is it the art of writing or the writing of the art?

I have tired to classify my art and can't find a correct term to define everything I put in the lines as I create them. The "curvisive" lines are dancing and writing poetry. They are combining multiple cultures through their similarity with traditional calligraphies. I find them beautiful and irresistible. They are expressing freedom and hopefully innocence. They are fresh and surprising.

If words could express it would art be necessary?" target="_blank">

It is such an honor when Rob Suss from The Franks-Suss Collection appreciates your paintings. Here is how they work:

"With outposts in London, Hong Kong and Sydney, we continue to search for exciting artists doing something new or something technically brilliant, or bold, or beautiful or all of the above. In the last year alone, we have bought artworks from artists based in over 20 different countries."

Artist's Challenge.( Personal notes)

As an Expressionist artist you have the obligation to be innovative. The best way to go is being yourself.

Being yourself is scary .

After many years when you finally think you get closer to finding yourself and feel strong enough you might find your expression, the one that really feels like you. Then comes the scary part.

As I am feeling out of process, maybe a bit disrespecful (later blog post), deeply in me I feel strong about what I am creating, but how do I go from there. Being different should open doors!  Being different means YOU have to prove your process and yourself even more. It means you are alone.

I am so done explaining myself, justifying my work.

I am passionate. Don't get me started about what motivates me. Everything is beginning to make one and it is a good feeling.

Finding new gallery and make a name for yourself. I feel I need to take a high though. I need to be even stronger...

I am still hanging on my older series as a safety net.
